It's been a day or two...

I realized the other day I haven't posted anything to my blog in almost 3 years.... :/ You might say life has been a little busy!?!
Anyway... Here is the current stasis on life at the Robbins house..

~Ryker~
Ryker just turned 6... ~Crazy, I know~ He is currently in kindergarten and is loving it. I can't believe how much he has learned in just a few weeks of being there! He really loves to use his imagination and is a very creative child. He defiantly is a right brained person. Whether its a paper airplane or a map or just a drawing of an animal, he is always making or coloring something. His favorite color is green and thinks everything green belongs to him! Ryker loves to sing and I love listening to him sing when he doesn't know I am. Singing isn't something he will do in front of too many people, especially if he is put on the spot.
Ryker can be very shy or very outgoing. This mostly depends on the other persons personality or if it is someone he is meeting for the first time. He has the softest heart and is so loving. He is always the first to give you a hug when you're feeling down. Which is wonderful! Because he is such a sweet boy he makes friends really easily.
He played t-ball this last spring and really enjoyed it and was a much better player than I anticipated he would be (given the fact he is my child and I have absoulty no coordination haha). Ryker is a water dog, he would be in a pool everyday if he could. This summer was his 3rd year of swimming lessons and he is doing great, he even jumps off the diving board all by himself!  He loves to be outside, ride his bike, and play ball. He loves camping, fishing and riding 4 wheelers. He says he can't wait for it to snow so he can go snowmobiling with his dad. This year Ryland is going to take him hunting and Ryker is pretty excited about it.

~Tayden~
Tayden is 2 1/2 years old! He is obsessed with "cars" and anything to do with Lightning McQueen or Mater. Everywhere he goes he is making race car sounds and his hands are always steering his invisible steering wheel. He loves to be outside playing or riding his "doe doe" bike (he calls it this because Ryker has the same trike which had "Go, Diego, Go" stickers on it. His has Harley Davidson stickers but it is still the doe doe). He loves running around the back yard as if it was a race track. His favorite color is orange, which he pronouncs "Orangey". Tayden is also a tv junkie! He loves to watch movies especially "cars" & "cars 2"! We watch one of those 2 movies every day. Lucky me! Tayden took his first year of swimming lessons this year. He hated it, until I came and swam with him. So we took swim lessons together this year! It was actually a lot of fun! And it was great bonding time for us!
This little boy is what you could call a spit fire! He is busy & keeps me on my toes! He is a character though. He keeps everyone laughing at all the funny things he does. He is also a drama king, which is really funny to watch. His latest thing he does is take you by the hand when he's found something he wants and he will say "Ina show you someting" or "I need someting".
Tayden is a lover on his terms, meaning if he's in the mood to be cuddled or loved on fine and dandy, but for the most part he doesn't like to be bothered. He loves his blue blanket and unfortunately his binkie. But those are 2 great bribes for loves from him. He's learned to to whisper "psst, I love you" which he will tell you but only if he wants to. But when he does it is the sweetest, a heart melter for sure!

It is amazing to me how these 2 little boys can be as different as salt and pepper, and yet share so many of the same qualities and interests. We are sure lucky to have these 2 wonderful children, they are the joy and happiness in our lives. Life wouldn't be the same without them! We love them so much!

~Ryland~
Ryland turned the big 3-0 this year! He even let me throw him a birthday bash! It was a blast! The theme was "the 80's" and everyone dressed in 80's style clothing. It really was so much fun! He spent the early months of this year on his snowmobile when he could get away from work. Unfortunately for him we haven't won the lottery yet so he still has to work.

~Me~
I also hit the big 3-0 this year. Yikes I know.. It's weird to say "I'm 30" but it's not all to bad. I got to spend my birthday in the mountains camping with the family! It was wonderful! In march I had LASIK done, I was scared to death but it turned out great and I have loved it! It's so nice to be able to wear sunglasses!
This year I started selling Usborne books. I love the books they offer so I thought what the heck, all kids need books right! I was also called to be on the enrichment committee this year, and I absolutely love it! I have made so many wonderful friends! I am truly blessed to have them in my life! In my spare time I still love to craft and make cakes! I have been able to make a few cakes this year for some of my friends children and that has been a lot of fun!

Other fun things we've done this year...

TUBES- Jan 30th
After about 6-8 weeks of battling ear infections Tayden got a shinny new pair of tubes put in his ears! I was terrified to have my baby put under and have surgery. Even though it is a very common occurrence for small children it was something I wasn't sure about. But I trusted the dr and knew it was for the best. The hardest part is where they take him back and we got to go wait in the waiting room. He was a champ though! He really didn't even cry too hard! After having tubes in he hasn't had another ear infection! Wahoo!!!!

CANCUN- April
We went to Cancun in 2012. It was a christmas gift from my parents so my entire family went. It was so much fun they gave us the same gift again for christmas last year.
So in April we flew to Mexico and spent a week on the beach! It was wonderful!!!! The weather was perfect! The boys loved playing in the pools, sand and ocean! While there we went to a dolphin cove and swam with the dolphins. The boys thought that was so much fun! When going into the shopping area you take the city bus. The bus drivers are CRAZY drivers! It's almost like being on a ride at Lagoon. I'm pretty sure they go through brakes like they do gas, often!
On our first night in Mexico my soon to be brother in law, Steve, proposed to my sister! It was so cute how he did it, a message in a bottle buried in the sand. My parents got to watch and said she was shocked! All she did was look at the bottle and say "oh cute, someone is being proposed to" and when Steve told her maybe she should read it she started to bawl. I'm not sure if she even got yes out or not. Haha But the date is set so I guess he got his answer! I'm pretty excited for them!

WHITNEY RESERVOIR
We spent one weekend up in the Uinta mountains camping and fishing. Dave & Pam & Hunter came with us as well as one of the guys that works with Ryland. We took the boys to the lake every day to fish. Ryker was a fish catching fool! Ryland and I didn't do too bad ourselves! Most of the fish were small but Ryker didn't care, we were keeping all that was caught! I did catch the biggest one however! I was so proud of myself! The guy that Ryland works with had this awesome fire pit. It is made out of an old washer drum. It puts off so much heat, its amazing! (we made one once we got home & love it!) Im pretty sure we brought home 90% of the dirt in the camp ground home in our dirty clothes basket but we had a wonderful time with our boys making memories!

🇺🇸 4th of July 🇺🇸
This year for the 4th of July went to Scofield camping with Dave & Pam and Randee & Collette. It was a fun trip. We went to the town celebration and then watched the fireworks over the lake. It was so cool! Tayden hadn't really ever seen fireworks prior to this year because we are usually in the mountains. So it was a lot of fun!
We took a drive and went to the memorial of the Crandall Canyon Mine. It was a mine that collapsed and trapped 6 men. And as rescue operations were in progress 3 more were killed. It was a really neat place, and really neat to see the memorials for the 9 men. I couldn't help but cry for the families that were torn apart and the loved ones that were never recovered. But how nice it is for the families to have a place to go to remember their loved ones.

OGDEN CANYON
We went for our annual Christensen/ Burns family camp out in July. It was a great trip! Lacey and Steve rented a boat so we spent 2 days on the lake, which I had forgotten how much I enjoyed doing. We had a couple cousins that we really hadn't been able to get to know very well come up this year and that was great to re-meet and to get to know them! A lot of new friendships were made! We spent my birthday up there, and I can't think of anything better than spending your birthday with your family! I think we counted there was about 50 of us there this year so the numbers keep growing and it gets  more fun every year! Other campers probably think we are strange cause we sit around the fire at night playing rhythm and singing old songs our grandmas used to sing. -Traditions-keep them going right!

BURNS FAMILY REUNION- August 25
My mom and I organized a family reunion with all of her moms family. The Burns family. We arranged for a committee to do the food assignments and someone to do games for the kids. A lot of planning and preparation went into it and boy did it pay off!!!!! We had such a great turn out! We held it at the Morgan park and its a good thing because we used almost the entire park! We counted and had close to 200 people come! It was amazing! And so much fun to see all the cousins that we grew up with and haven't seen forever!
My mom and I decided we wanted to make a movie to have playing with pictures of all the 1st generation and so on. So we rounded up pictures and scanned them all into my computer, downloaded songs from that era and put the movie together... Wahoo! Easy as pie, or so we thought! My computer crashed in the middle of burning the DVD! I was beyond upset! All that work and it was gone! I was surprised that my computer was still on my desk and not thrown out into my yard! Luckily I was able to restore the file and burn it on my moms computer. Everyone loved the move and wanted copies so I'm glad we were able to finish it!!

HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY TO US!!
We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary this year! A huge milestone! Congratulations us! Ryland took me to Logan to the anniversary inn. We stayed in a room called the tipi room. We actually slept in a tipi! It did have a bed in it, and to top it off it was round! I've never slept on a round bed before, it was kind of interesting! We had a yummy dinner and a relaxing night, we even went to bed early! Haha I guess you can say we are getting old or we are boring, but without the kids there why not right!  I can't wait to see what the future brings for us along with many more anniversaries!! I love you Ry!

Ryker is 3!!

Happy Birthday Ryker Boy!!!
This year Ryker got lots of fun toys for his birthday even though all he wanted was a slide and a trampoline. Here he is with his little work bench. Opening a whole slew of matchbox cars to go with his "town" rug. Grandma & Grandpa C gave him this fun bounce house. It was the closest thing they could get to a slide and a tramp. But he loves it!!! He will spend hours in it if we sit outside with him. The great part is it wears him out so he sleeps good!
Here are a few things about Ryker:
*He is a motor head. All his toys make noises like they were real. The louder the better. He loves playing with his toy trucks, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, and snowmobile. He likes to make "the dunes" out of the couch and a blanket.
*his favorite camping spot is the sand dunes in the little Sahara desert.
*loves playing in the dirt
*can ride his big bike all by himself & he can now turn it around without tipping it over.
*loves going to Grandma & Grandpa Coleman's house. Lacey is his favorite playmate. His favorite place to sleep over is there.
*loves Disney movies, Dora and Diego
*can count to 13 all by himself.
*knows about 15 colors
*knows basic shapes
*talks in full sentences & uses words I didn't know he knew how to use in a sentence or their meaning.
*has the sweetest singing voice. I love when he sings little house in the woods, 2 little boys, lets go fly a kite & the wonder pets song.
*has his own camera and takes random pictures around the house, mostly of his toys.
*really likes to do the dishes, which is great cause I hate it.
*always wants to help cook, but is a bad eater. He likes to snack but doesn't like to sit down to a meal and eat.
*favorite foods are: fruit, mac & cheese, hot dogs, cheese burgers & sweets
*loves grandma's diet coke much to my dismay.
*sometimes has bad dreams that are off the wall
*has a special blanket that he calls his blue awe
*still likes his binkie
*hates wind and rain storms. If it thunders and lightening we can guarantee he will be sleeping with us
*has been potty trained since he was 2 which was all on his own. All we did was buy big boy undies
*doesn't know his own strength which his cousin Carson gets the brunt of most often.
*knows what he does and doesn't want & if he doesn't want it he will let you know.
*gets shy around strangers
*has the cutest little personality. He is such a sweet boy! We are so lucky to have him and love him so much!!!
